Urinary Tract Infections
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a painful condition of the genitourinary tract and is indicated by the presence of one or more microorganisms in the urine. The infection is localized to the bladder, kidney, prostate, and urethra. Bladder infection symptoms include: pain or burning during urination, frequent need to urinate, urgent need to urinate, or blood in the urine. Fever, back pain, nausea, or vomiting are not common symptoms of a bladder infection, but can occur in people with kidney infection.
In women, factors that increase the risk of developing a bladder infection include: vaginal sex, use of spermicides, history of bladder infection, and diabetes. Urinary tract infections recur in one-third of women after their first episode. |

Cranberry juice has long been known to help decrease symptomatic UTI, and many studies have been completed to determine its effect on bacterial growth in the urinary tract. Aronia Melanocarpa, black chokecherry, is a berry native to Eastern North America and has gained popularity in Europe for its antioxidant properties after extensive study for the past ten years. Aronia Melanocarpa appears to be one of the richest plant sources of antioxidants. Previous studies have demonstrated that Aronia Melanocarpa has bacterostatic activity, which limits bacterial growth.
Aronex™, our proprietary compound developed at the Prosperia Wellness Center, contains dense phenolic phytochemicals and the highest concentration of proanthocyanidin from different plants including Aronia Melanocarpa.
UroniaGenic™ contains Aronex™, a superoxide dismutase, with selenium, and zinc. Recent laboratory tests of the black chokecherry have measured high levels of oxygen free-radical absorbing capacities, some of the highest measured among all kinds of berries. Our nutriceutical, UroniaGenic™, will be a superior supplement for prevention of UTI. |
